My story
My story
Hi, I’m Lisa and I have created and now run Jazzy Rose Flowers from my field in Chipperfield in West Hertfordshire. Jazzy Rose Flowers is named after my five-year-old daughter, Jasmine. Those of you who are parents will understand the love, support, and nurture crucial for both parenting and cultivating beautiful flowers!
Some of you may have followed me here from Sew Over It, my first business which I set up in 2011. My passion for sewing endures and you will no doubt see me in the field in my “me-made” outfits! However, over the past couple of years I have discovered a passion for sowing and growing too.
I moved to Hertfordshire from London after a tough few years, (divorce, pandemic and burnout!). What I needed was a fresh start. I grew up in North Yorkshire in a small village and wanted to return to life in the countryside. When I moved to Walthamstow in London, post divorce, growing flowers in my small garden was my escape, my haven, my sanctuary. I spent 2022 working for some impressive flower farmers whilst studying at Capel Manor, an incredible college for horticulture. I have devoured books, online courses and podcasts to learn everything I can about growing and arranging flowers.
In autumn 2022, I found my land here in Chipperfield and I started to set up my field properly in January this year. You can read more about this journey on my blog, The Diary of a Flower Farmer.
I have found such happiness in my new business and my new home in the countryside. I love that my job will be bringing the joy of flowers to so many people. I hope you will stick around to follow how Jazzy Rose Flowers blooms.
